What? The in-game guide wasn't helpful at all?
Okay fine
You have a paddle with a large number on it. Every frame, that number is going to decrease by 7 (at least!), and if it reaches 0, you lose.
How can you stop this??? By scoring bonus points. You can get all sorts of bonus points! Get them by:
- hitting balls with your paddle!
- having balls hit other balls!
- having balls hit the scoreboard!
- having balls hit literally anything else!
- having balls stay in play for a while!
- making the bonuses tracker repeat itself too much!
- surviving!
- doing nothing!
- mashing buttons!
- having a score that is more than 0!
- making your framerate drop below 30 fps!
- ...and more! (I think?)
Any bonus points you score will be added to both your paddle AND your overall score. But! As your score gets higher, the penalty for losing balls will become greater.
Another note! The longer a ball stays in play, the faster and more valuable it becomes. When it reaches its max, it will be red, larger, and able to destroy any other balls in its path!
also you might get a giant lag spike on your first game upon startup if you begin very quickly from the title screen. and uh that's definitely not intended idk why it happens but enjoy all those bonus points i guess. it doesn't happen on your next game
